I remember for Spyfest, someone had posted a guide to compressing your footage to 50mb while keeping it at the highest looking quality. Does anyone still have the link to that thread? Or maybe just some good advice for a full 6 min DVCpro50 HD film?

Thanks :)

It's in the thread just a few rows down. :)

if you are a visual person -

additional note - if you use this method and want to restrict the data rate on the video, i suggest 1000 kbps.

I just played around with compression settings.

Got it to 47 MB looking fabulous.

Exactly 6 minutes in length, and I used 1000 bit rate. for quality. 854 x 480.

Why give away 3MB Robbie?

simon speaks truth robbie, the difference between a 1000kbps file and a 1100kbps file for me was only about 2.5 MB, bump up that bitrate a bit!

I'm currently looking at 49.9MB
I think I'm good! :)
I'm at a lower resolution than Robbie though. I don't like to go so large at such a low bit rate.
Maybe it's just me, but if I can spot any macroblocking I'm not happy.

I might just trick the mods and upload like a 4 gig file :)

Thanks Simon and Ben, I will do that`!
