Hey everyone this is my first post here, love the site. I was looking for some dv cinema/panasonic shirts and/or hats but don't know if such a thing is availble. anyone know of a site that sells such a thing?

How about the DVX? The camera's design (as in, the appearance of it) might be copyrighted, too, though that's kind of nebulous.
i say dvxuser because there are dvx users out there who don't come to this site...with dvxuser apparel, you know you're in the club...and the first rule of the dvxuser club is you do not talk about the dvxuser club...the second rule is you do not talk about the dvxuser club!....hey, that would make a cool slogan for the shirt ;D

So Jarred, you being the Kingpin, lock a date down for judging and the tech specs for deliver for printing. At least 150dpi..etc and front or front and back and what base color of shirt....
I think Cafeexpress.com can take alot of the delivery burden off you???

needs to be 300dpi. I prefer Dark shirts.. probally a dark blue like the site would be good, what do you think?

Dark shirts are fine for you guys up there in the land of the noon-time moon, but here in Dixie, white is a must . . . 8)
Just kiddin'. I prefer white or light colors, but dark blue is fine, too. No reason it can't be both, though.

well I wish that was true, but as with everything on my site its coming out of my pocket, and to get 2 colors of shirt printed up in each size costs 2x as much. *Maybe If they sell well then we can add some different colors.
I just find white to be so boring, just me though.

Well, I was making a joke, but it warmer, sunnier climes, white or light is much more wearable. It's mostly a utilitarian thing. Darkness absorbs heat.
Dark blue is OK. I just don't like black T-shirts so much. Too many black-jeaned, chained-walleted, Iron Maiden-T wearing mulletheads from my childhood, I guess . . .

Even if we went with LIL FRIEND or any design for that matter it would be nice if a skilled individual did the actual artwork.

sounds good. 1 ink is fine, or we can do the whole photo thing like your IJ thing or whatever., the printers I talked to do that kinda thing and its pretty cheap.

IS this a 4 color process? I'm a litlle out of the loop on T-shirt technolgy :-/
When I was screening (Going way back) we used a 4 color process (The standard 4 colors) to print photographic quality images. The screen sizes were like 400 or something...
I'm not sure if we can use the SCARFACE image as if you charge monney it will be some lame copyright thing...
I doubt the PROD COMP will come knocking though... Then again this is a film site!

The place I do uses some sort of Transfer photo thing.. like cafe press but new technology so they can do it on dark shirts (cafepress can only do tranfers on white shirts)
I think the photo thing is kinda cool.. I wore a custom one at DVExpo and it went over well, and when I went up to take questions from the audience at Adam Wilt's fantastic DV conference It was a great aid cause I could just point to my chest :)

At least I think with a co like Cafe Express it takes alot of the BS out of it for jarred with collecting of the money and delivery etc...at least with a co like Cafe Express you just order and it frees up Jarreds life...
it also could possibly open up other color shirt options..

I am not sure of Cafe Presses ability to Print onto Dark shirts (I think Jarred speaks from experience on this) although it ould be cool to have a lil Cafe to order hats and T-shirts from.

Here is one of the ideas I had:
A Guerilla soldier looking dude (Sillouetted) looking all like a badass holding a DVX100.
Almost a serious soldier type look but not a soldier that specifies an particular army. Just think Guerilla.
I would love to have on the front center in a kick ass font design

and the words

I could go either way on the stars.
For t-shirt fronts, I kind of like going more austere, something on the upper left of the chest where a policeman's badge would be -- a smaller version of the logo, etc. You've seen what I mean.
yeah... since the back is pretty detailed, I think something more simple and "less is more" on the front would play out well... plus in a single or dual color, since the back is only 2 color...

Smaller than larger. LEss is more! I feel pocket logos are old school; although thats just my 2 cents!
yeah the type from the back would look great on the front....

With Black or Navy T's the color scheme will have to be re-worked. No big deal, just careful planning.
White Tshirt options would be good as well.
My wife is inquiring about chick shirts (you know, breast hugging chick type shirts) for summer wear. She will glady wear this design!

i would lose the crosses on the side of the writing in exchange for somthing similar. *not only is it the logo symbol for independent *skateboard co, but alot of people stil see it as a facist symbol. i would vote for a different font too though. i dont want to be eyballed up by thugs for wearing something that looks like i may be part of some urban group.
otherwise that thing rocks! style man... style!
