I heard Howard's demands were crazy.

Sounds like it. Buh-bye, Howard.

Seems like kind of a step-down for Cheadle. Not that I didn't love Iron Man; I did.

Who knows. I think he can bring more to the role than Howard.

I thought Howard was really, really strong. His role was small, and I just bloody loved it. I wanted more. He was perfect. A shame, because I think he could have done more. Maybe he knows he's really good and is getting too demanding.

Howard is pissed, he has prepaired for the role in II for over a year, he & Cheadle are or were good friends...

I thought Howard was good. Not bad, not great, but very solid.

I think Cheadle could bring more to the role though, especially if they dive into Stark's drinking problem.

Both are great actors. One came in at the right price! :)

I don't have the time to find them right now but there are also some articles in Variety.com about it.

Howard was as surprised as anyone, they did this behind his back and unfortunately I'm starting to look at Marvel Studios as one big Clusterfu<k operation.

there was the whole BS regarding them chopping up the Incredible Hulk and removing all Edward Nortons scenes that he wrote, then they didn't sign on Jon Favreau until like 3 months after Iron man made like what..$500 mill worldwide?

I am NOT impressed with Marvel Studio's executives and the garbage they seem to be pulling on every film.

Aw man...I'm not the biggest T.H. fan, but I thought he fit the role pretty well (although he looks nothing like the War Machine I remember). I can't (or don't want to) imagine what Don Cheadle would look like in the suit, but I guess as long as he doesn't try to pull off any accents (ugghhh) it'll be fine.

Anybody sit through the entire credits to see the clip of Samuel Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. at the very end? Jackson should have replaised Howard. Any of the 3 could easily pull the role off.

Jackson can't replace him, one he's to old, for the role, and 2, they've already cast him a Nick Fury.

when they are in the suit you can only see them in that face shot, war Machine isn't nearly as form fitting as iron man is lol, in th later comics the Iron Man suit was made from "Memory Metals" so when its not on it folds up like cloth and goes in a breaf case, I never bought that.

I, for one, thought Howard pulled off the role quite nicely, although he wasn't like the warmachine from the comics.

Now that Cheadle has taken the role, I'm interested to see what they do with him, I think as Stark's friend he can pull it off perfectly, but in the suit, I don't know...I guess we'll see.

I really liked T.H. in Iron man... It's to bad what came out of it, my personal opinion is D.C. will be just as good. Maybe Refreshing? Or better? New look? Exciting!

From what I've read about Howard, he's a bit of an ahole when it comes to deals. He thinks he's of a lot higher regard and quality than a lot of other actors and thats simply not true. I think he's an idiot for asking a bunch of unnecessary things for this movie. Glad to see the film go to Cheadle, looking forward to it.

Both Cheadle and Downy just completed a deal for Iron Man THREE... Yep, not II but III.

Doesn't surprise me, with Iron Man being the 2nd highest grossing film of this year...the studios are going to be sure they milk every dollar they can. I just feel more comfortable with Favero behind the wheel.

Paramount made a deal with Marvel for 4 or 5 other Superhero movies and Cheadle also signd a deal to be in the new Advengers and Downy as Iron Man will make an apperance along in it with the Hulk and a few others...

This is gonna be pretty good!

Don't get me started. Punisher War Zone had better be good. How hard can it be to make Punisher film. It's a basic action movie.

They don't care. As long as the films are making money they don't care.

-NateYup. And Iron Man is one of the best Marvel films ever made IMHO. I'm glad they took over. Not a huge fan of Spidey's movies.

Iron Man nailed the comic for me.
