Had some fun shooting with the frame rate hack this afternoon. I can't wait to shoot some more with it, it's to much fun.

am i the only one noticing lag/smears in objects that are moving on the hpx. i also own an hpx, and even when watching the footage on a monitor it smears. i see it on the clip of the bird in this example. i've never seen anything like this with my hvx, or other hvx footage. why does the hpx do this?

Are you seeing lag / smear on an LCD or CRT?
I've watched this on both and can't see anything that looks abnormal.

I am watching it on a 23" Apple Cinema HD Display monitor. I have also watched it on my Plasma TV. The lag / smear is just as noticeable on both. Every frame of footage I shoot on my HPX170 that has any sort of movement when hand held or shoulder mounted has very, very noticeable lag / smear to it. I thought it was just my HPX170 until i started noticing it on other footage people were posting. I've done side-by-side tests with it and my HVX200. The HVX200 has no lag / smear while the HPX170 does. I'm not just seeing things either. My only guess could be a batch of 170's with a broken or malfunctioning OIS. Sorry to high-jack your thread DM, but I'm just over whelmed with this issue.

twerp,
do you have some sample stills of this? lag / smear would be visible then.

I really like his composition. Though, again, the magnificent colors of the season are a great subject to shoot.
Nice vid man!
