If you go to the member map, there is a breakdown by gender...I believe there are a few fine women weilding the DVX
Bring on the next Leni Riefenstahl...but leave all the Nazi stuff at home :-X

Well, I'm glad i'm not the only one. ::)
I got my baby last thursday from beachcamera. Good people, delivered it on time for my shoot. In a passing conversation, someone has asked a picture of my child. I couldn't understand what they meant until I realized they heard me call my camera 'baby'.

Uh, thanks Taylor for that, at least you didn't recall the connection of my name to the Bullwinkle in picture story detail.

Nice.
I am breeding my son to be a filmmaker. Forget baseball and basketball! Never did me any good! Instead of "Son, catch with two hands" I'm "Son, remember the 5 C's!"

Dudes...
Don't forget NANCY SCHREIBER who used the DVX for a movie, whose title escapes me and has authored a very good article on shooting with our little gem.
I worked as her AC many years ago on a film shoot in OK and have followed her career a bit...VISIONS OF LIGHT is a good film talking to DP's about lighting and their craft

Sounds like one of my Vampire Killer Agents.
Is she an agent who kills vampires or a killer agent who's a vampire?
*Instead of "Son, catch with two hands" I'm "Son, remember the 5 C's!"
That's just hilarious, John. *I can't wait to do that someday...
Natasha, zrasdvweitsen! :) (If that makes no sense to you, sorry...) If you ever need accessories, I will be happy to be a local resource for you in Glendale.

In answer to the question, I am a female and DVX owner. It can be a little isolating at times, before I bought my DVX I went to a Panasonic presentation and there were 50 guys in the room and me. Many years ago when I did remote sports we would run those giant cables that ran the multi cam setup. I would always get the gross job of climbing behind and under bleachers and stuff because I was so much smaller than everybody else, but I could still do handheld court cam with one of those old Sony 3 tubes that weighed about 30lbs. Don't think I could anymore though.

if you know what your doing, the DVD isnt for you, if you dont know what you are doing, its pretty good. And yes Nancy does about 15 minutes on the DVD talking about the cam.

From a topic like "Women DVX100 Users?" one might think that there would be more females posting in this room then males… though like the rest of the field it seems to be male dominated. Not that I am complaining… I, on most occasions, prefer to work with men. Just thought I would make that observation.
