Got to spend more quality time with the one fiddy. Not to fond of the transcoding step between the cam and the editing, but PPro CS4 is shipping today so I hope to soon edit AVCHD natively. I wont be upgrading Vegas until v9.

Vimeo is a little blocky. The full 1280x720 HD version is located here:

Nice stuff there.
The one scene which shows the pan across the lake almost looked like a still image panning. Good stuff.

Did you use a UV or polarizing filter?

Nicely done Ed. I too wonder if you had UV or polarizer. Also, your tilt up on the cactus is nice. Any tricks here, or just a soft hand on a good fluid head. I am especially interested in what you've learned about getting a good rack focus with the HMC150. Were these pure manual focus without assist? Did you mark the focus end points on the ring before racking?

Although I did have a UV filter on for lens protection, I did not use a polarizer (which is of course a good idea for shots near any large body of water).

I wanted to see how the image looked out of the box.*

* I did cheat on one shot though- the panning wide shot of the lake did have a graduated blue filter in the mattebox. :)

That's he kinda footage that will convince some of the doubters. Great stuff out of the box. Really well done.
