Well, after sweating over this decision for a long time I finally ordered an M2 from Redrock, with matte box, follow focus, flip unit and everything else that I'm going to need to run it properly with my baby HVX. I've also snapped up a few lenses off E-bay.

Combine that with my brand new Sachtler FSB6 and all I can say is I AM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!

But I digress.

Does anyone have any sage advice / words of wisdom for shooting the HVX with the M2?

Cheers,

Be careful with the stepdown ring, or it might be permanently stuck on your HVX.

You're gonna need alot of light if you plan any indoor shoots. And I mean alot of light!

Light Light Light

Also, when setting up the microx take your time. It is not easy to align. If the blue ring does not slide effortlessly into your step down ring on your HVX, then you did something wrong and your focus will never be right. I shot an entire week with the microx slightly tilted and it messed up my focus major.

Use excelent quality lenses. I mean Zeiss or better. The best Nikor is simply substandard when your using this set up.
