What's a good subtitle font?
Any font standards that I should use? Also, what's a good font size? I want to get this right.
Thanks.

Style of font may depend on your film.
Yours is a bit dark no? Find some font that may look dark..
Google some subtitle font and you can see some for size.

The color yellow is a good idea -- as it doesn't often appear in the frame and won't blend into anything. As for the font you should keep it simple. Helvetica or something similar.

I'll try Helvetica. The film is B&W so I'll skip the yellow.

I'm thinking of going with a light grey font colour. White is lost in a few bright shots. Any other ideas or will that do?
Thanks,
Mike

Helvetica is a nice font, but I am partial to the simple, yet effective, arial.

Arial is a knock off version of Helvetica...
Arial was Microsofts way of not paying for the rights to use Helvetica as a default on their operating system. So they just copied it and made a few minor changes. The differences between the two fonts are miniscule and arbitrary.
Try taking this quiz and see if you can tell the difference.. http://www.iliveonyourvisits.com/helvetica/

Thanks for the info, Mike, I didn't know that. :)
EDIT: I took the quiz and got 7 out of 10 right. I am not font expert, but I can KIND OF see the difference (it is so subtle it's ridiculous). I had never compared the two side by side I just remember using Helvetica on a banner I did once but when I am working in word I always use Arial. I guess there is a reason I like them both.

I'm trying to be a little artistic with it. I want the yellow to be subdued like the rest of the movie. I don't want it jumping off the screen.
Not enough?

It's there. I went with a mix as I didn't want a bright yellow.
No good?

I actually like the tone you have. It is somewhat mysterious and it does look good on the gray scale image.

I like it actually, did you use a regular font here? I think it would be better if you'll use a bold font, the size is perfect though. I dunno maybe it's just me...
