Hi there
I was wondering if someone know of a nice shoulder support for the EX3 (that works and won't be half my weight). I know it's a semi-shoulder camera, but I can't hold it for longer than 30min, and I need some kind of support instead of the tripod sometimes.
Any ideas?
I thought about the big vest/glidecam thing.. but that's too big and expensive for me. I need something that allows me to move fast and don't fall to the ground while chasing someone :)

Thanks but, that 2002 Orbiter is 8,6 lb, plus 8 lb of the EX3, that's 16,6 lb! And doesn't seem very good from the review at BH.
The other, the Varizoom is a bit lighter, just 4.5 lb, but i'm also exceeding the capacity (7lb). I suppose it doesn't matter much, but.. has anyone tried any of those with the EX3?

I would consider the DV Rig Pro HD or any of the other DV rig products. I have tested it with the DV Rig Pro and the MultiRig Pro. My MultiRig (an early version) can't handle the weight of EX3+Mattebox+Rails+BeBob CoCo+Omega V-mount battery. The MultiRig Pro HD WILL handle that weight by its specs. It does provide an excellent shoulder + waist/hip support system for EX-3.
MultiRig Pro also provides support and the latest rod which I have can support the weight of the fully decked-out EX.

I purchased this over a year ago. I used to use it with the Canon XH-A1 but with the EX3 I only use the Mono pole, the rad (in order to be able to attach the mono pole) and the belt. I shoot weddings and have not problems at the end of 8 Hrs.

I second Ned's recommendation for the DVRig Pro. I've often worn mine all day without problems.

Thanks people, DVRing sounds like a good option, and affordable.

The Media Rig works well with the Sony EX. I believe if you call Monday you can get one last demo unit that is still like new.
The Media Rig is not cheap but if you look close you can see how much machined aluminum and stainless steel is involved in making.

I bought one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/camera-shoulder-support-for-JVC-JY-HD10U-pd170-pmw-ex1_W0QQitemZ120337984252QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_2?hash=item120337984252&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318
for my ex3 recieved it two days ago and am well pleased with it! It is extremely light weight and comfortable and I can position the EX3 exactly where I want it. It will support the camera hands free with no effort although you wouldnt use it like that. I have tried 2 different ones previously including the one phil bloom uses for his ex1 and neither were suitable. This one has shoulder arms that you can bend to suit the shape of your body, perfect!
sorry unable to post pictures yet.

I got the DV Rig Pro and am happy. Especially like the plate behind my back! Am assembling my beebop box onto the plate right now...the holes luckily coincide :-)
What about able to support a 35mm adapter with lens?

I'm gonna try the DVRig Pro HD, for my EX3. Will get it soon hopefully :)
According to them, it supports even a 35mm adapter
