Could Final Cut users be to blame, since we're doing so much with so little? (Yes, that is sarcasm... sort of...)

I mean... looks like, with the new MacBooks' lacking FireWire and eSata, Apple's tired of folks getting Sundance submissions cut on iMovie, and remarkable indie films on Final Cut Express (or even Pro) on laptops, and wants us to buy the MacPro with FCS2 instead.

EDIT: Sorry about the thread title. Lost track of myself, had another post for Café and forgot that I was still in FCP... moderators, can we change the thread name?

MacBooks never had eSATA capability

They are consumer machines.

A MBP is sufficient to edit DVCProHD on, and to be honest, you could import and edit DVCProHD on a MacBook without FW.
