View Full Version : Appaloosa
Went last night. Stars Ed Harris who also directed it. I still like westerns myself and this one was pretty good. Viggo Mortenson had a really nice 4 guage shotgun!!

This was a great movie. Some of the dialogue between Viggo and Ed was worth the entire movie. I enjoyed it, although I believe I liked 3:10 to Yuma better and Open Range is my favorite of the new westerns.

Yeah I enjoyed this movie a lot, some people may find it boring but it just has a paced out story in my opinion. It's cool to see more westerns as they don't get much play. Vitto, Harris, and Irons all stood out I thought and had great performances.

i went into the movie, wanting to like it. i came out severely disappointed. Unforgiven, The Searchers, 3:10 To Yuma, Tombstone, Once Upon A Time in the West are some of my favorite movies of all time, and my favorite westerns. Appaloosa tried too hard to be those movies. I did not like the story at all. Some of the dialogue was pretty bad, and the acting wasn't that great, which was a shock to me because of all the talent they had. The editing was a bit confusing at some points. There was one shot of the woman (Tilda I believe??) where she's carrying breakfast and then they cut to the next shot of Harris and Mortensen and it was night. What was the point of the shot of Tilda???
Cinematography was what kept me in the theater. It was a well shot movie, but not much more.
