Can EDL files be imported into AE the same way they can in FCP? I'd like to do a series of quick, frame-length cuts on some footage, and it's actually easier to write a program that generates an EDL list than to do it by hand. The reason for AE is because it's easier for me to play with time effects and move markers around in AE than in FCP.

If not an EDL, then something like it where I can specify the frame of the movie at each frame on the timeline.

For example, let's say I want the first 5 frames of the timeline to be a selection of the five frames of the movie in the order 3 5 4 1 2. Is there any way, other than by hand, to do this?

Because AE is not an editor, it does not import or utilize EDLs.
you can export QT references from FCP tho

Okay, EDL is out, but I was wondering if there's another way to do a frame rearrangement process automatically, using keyframe markers. Frame-level time remapping is something I do all the time in AE, and it gets tedious because I have to do it by hand, when I am doing something that has a strict mathematical basis that I could just as easily program and save to a file, if it were possible.
