All my Exposure Room video look bad

I always upload my stuff to exposure room so i can embed in my site but they all end up looking pretty bad, say when I compare them to other EX1 footage I see up there (example Phil Blooms stuff)

I export with quicktime, 16:9, 4000 kbs at 720p and they look fine on my mac,

I don't get it, here is an example of my latest video.

i think that all the videos i upload looka bit shit&y compared to others i have seen, the colour is off and it looks pixelated.

Maybe it's just me?

what are they encoding at?
You can try beffing up your kbs but I dare say their's is less than what you are uploading already.

I was thinking it might be the codec, but i'm using the latest quicktime.

This video is using a adapter?
I guess a lot of it has to do with color grading for these online sites I could be wrong but there must be some degradation.

the video was shot clean, put some grading on it, I donno, maybe it's my imagination, just didn't think it looked that good.

Quicktime is a general "container" format. It is the Mac equivalent to Window's AVI. It can have any range of codecs inside of it.

I don't think your footage looks pixelated but it does look soft. 4000K may look fine on your Mac but Exposure Room re-encodes your footage so you need to send them a higher data rate file.

I have had best results with Exposure Room and other HD video sites by encoding at H.264 with at least 8000Kbps. For short form videos I encode at 12000Kbps. Video (whether it's 1080 originated or 720p originated) is sized to 1280x720 (720p). For comparison look at my videos at http://exposureroom.com/members/areuter.aspx/ . They are all encoded at 12000Kbps.
