I will be adding none cause I just use studio lights to light the scene no need to have on the camera

There has been lots of discussion about "on camera" lights in the lighting section. Do a search there but I too am a zylight user and fan and use a z90.

yes, but if you do event/wedding stuff, an on camera light can be awfully handy thing to have at a reception.

Yeah i'd look at one of the MANY threads regarding on camera lights. Zylight Z90 for me though.

The Micros are awesome. That's really all we sell. We did a shoot at a concert hall and used the light for audience shots and also added great highlights and that "eye twinkle" when the lead singer bent down and sang into the camera.
Here are some of the lights that we offer.

There is also a new one comeing out from Switronix that looks really cool. It's so new that we don't have it on the store yet. It's called the Torchled. It's fully dimmable. I haven't gotten my hands on one yet so I'm looking forward to seeing if it passes my test.

I agree with Spec-Com, Litepanel is terrific as an 'on-camera light'. Compact, light and simple to operate.
Zylights are great products but they are more than just a simple on camera light, just watch the videos in their site.
In my opinion biggest difference is Zylights still need a cord and a bulky battery pack, whereas Litepanel requires only 4 AA batteries to operate.(plus battery packs if you want to)
My suggestion is for events/weddings/on the go interviews Litepanel is more practical and provides a cheaper solution. For film/stage/lengthy broadcast events Zylights are more appropriate. Of course either one is good for anything ;)

I HAVE BEEN using a vintage Mini-Cool lamp from Cool-Lux for about 20 years. REcently I ordered an MR16 60 degree wide angle 37 watt bulb and it really does the trick for my Canon HDV camcorder, even with a wide-angle lens attachment on.
LED's are pricey and outdoor color balanced and weddings are 90% 3200k indoor light intensive. They don't have much light throw but are fine for close-ups. Stick with cheap incandescent lights for now.

Many of the LED options are available in either colour temp or both as is my Zylight. Though they may not have the sheer power of a MR16 with a large batttery pack they sure weigh less, last longer and run cooler.

I have an mr16 light with a battery belt, cheap and reliable but the belt gets heavy and anoying after a while.
