HPX170 LCD Quality and detail

Has anyone else noticed that when shooting with the LCD there is almost too much detail? it seems to me when shooting in bright sun that there is almost like black lines or back divots around areas of contrast, these dont appear in playback but it sure adds some extra guesswork to shooting.
Should it not be that what you see is what you get? is my LCD messed?

You have evf detail turned on. This function helps you focus and it is a crucial tool to use if you want a tack sharp focus. Look inside the LCD, you should see the EVF detail button.
