Can the hvx 200 record from its RCA to p2 card, or is p2 only for live recording?
i think the rca is out only

The HVX can input analog video and record it to its tape, but not directly to its P2 card.

No, the component is output-only.

if you absolutely had to, you could capture the RCA footage into a computer using a Canopus or some other A/D Converter then print it to the P2 card via firewire.
Otherwise you could record to tape on the HVX then transfer that footage to a computer and print it through firewire back out to the P2 card.
Since we're talking RCA out the footage has to be SD which of course that begs the question what would require you to have to record this SD footage into a P2 card in the first place? and why is recording it to tape not a viable option? Is it too long?
Best of luck

Yeah, that's a great point, you could use something like a Canopus ADVC (is that what it's called?) that converts RCA to firewire, and you could then firewire that to the P2 card...
