I'm an HVX200 owner and user. I've created some really beautiful images with the camera. when the HPX170 came out, I had to get one.

I've only had it for a day. I've done all kinds of side-by-side tests with my HVX200 and am blown away at the low light capabilities of this camera compared to the 200.

HOWEVER... i have gone through the camera thoroughly and it is almost identically set to the HVX200 I know and love. Yet, whenever I film anything at 1/60 shutter speed or less I get this horrific laggy strobe on whatever the moving subject is. Anything above 1/60 has been fine. But I primarily shoot at 1/60 on my HVX200. What could I possibly be doing wrong? Below is a high-resolution example of what it's doing.

I am shooting 720/24PA

Footage seems OK, can't seem to tell what's wrong.

I can't see anything wrong here either

Looks okay to my eyes, too. What are you viewing your footage on? Some LCDs have slow refresh rates and can cause some weird artifacts.

In the video it appears you are seeing something that isn't there and trying to dodge it. And you are also seeing strobing that isn't there. They are after you.

Haha nooo! what if i am losing it? aliens?!?

I swear there is a lagged blur that follows the person in that shot. You can definitely see it on his face when he moves side to side! We've got a shoot today with our HVX and are bringing the HPX along so hopefully I can figure it all out. If not, tonight when I am back I will post a longer, better example!

It does look kinda stroby when he moves (right to left as we look at it) away from the light. But I can't tell if it's the screen on my iMac that's causing it.

Weenie.
