This is some outdoor test footage of 6mbps footage. Shot with HE 1080/60i. Lowest quality you can choose on the hmc150. I can shoot 186 minutes of footage on this setting on one of my 8gb cards.
I do a lot of film work for clubs around campus so when I'm out shooting an event.. this seems like a GREAT setting to use. No point in using higher quality when it's good enough and I won't have to take up as much space on my external right?

Thank you so much!
Very interesting! In some ways much better than I expected; in some ways worse. But certainly not useless - and frankly, I'm not sure yet how it'll translate to a locked-down scenario.
I notice that I don't see any interlacing artifacts at all... is that true of the original footage, too? What was the shutter setting?
Again, thanks... this is heartening, though not necessarily a clear answer yet about whether it'll work for everything I need.

I did not de-interlace or anything. This is true original footage. Shutter setting is...... I don't know?
If you download the original file and make it double size you can see very small interlacing if you pause it. Otherwise.. you don't really see any interlacing.
Very different from my hv20 where interlacing is like screaming across the screen.

Interesting. Frankly, the 6mbps setting is quite a plus for folks who do legal videography. 6 hours on a 16GB card is a huge deal for long depositions (and who needs to shoot at PH when recording depos anyway?). As long as there are no artifacts when shooting talking heads in a locked down situation, consider me sold on it.

Or, how about 12 hours on a 32 GB card?
It also claims to have some kind of legally binding time stamp.

Absolutely to both counts. Time stamp's a must; 12 hrs. on a 32GB card is amazing... but hell if you've gotta sit through recording that much testimony in a single day:Drogar-Dum(DBG):
