Does anyone know why the image from the component output of the HV30 is much brighter than the actual recorded HDV image?

When I connect the HV30 to my HD monitor via the component output I see great image, consistant with the image on the LCD monitor of the camera, but when I capture it to the computer I get a much darker image.

I'm wodering if I'm doing something wrong, and if there's any specific gamma or color profile difference that I should be compencating for.

Any information will be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Yuval

It's one of the differences between studiorgb & computer rgb color profiles...
do you perhaps work on a mac system? because it tends to give a darker look to images...
it's really late here, so I better get some sleep, anyway, if you need a more "sophisticated" explanation you can pm or email me.

Ric.

There could be a lot of factors in play here.
What you need to do, if you really want to see what your image looks like is view it on a professional monitor that has been adjusted properly.

Then to view it correctly off of your time line you need to be sending your video out to this professional monitor through a professional capture/preview device, AJA ,Black magic or other.

I hope that helps:)
