That was the exact response I got by sending a question through the "contact us" form. I left the person's name out to protect their identity... just in case. But try it yourself and see what they tell you.

Sweet what does it cost ?
I want to purchase one soon .
What I find so strange is that even today nobody can give a real answer to this question ? PAL/NTSC switchable .Why is it such a secret ?
Its like buying a machinegun and the sales person can't even tell you if its semi - automatic or fully - automatic
eeh I have never bought a gun, period just an example :)

as of it's not a secret (although before it was), the hmc151 user manual is pretty clear, it says that is ntsc(60hz)/pal(50hz) switchable.
So if you want a switchable camera you have to buy it over here.......with the crises € might go down........

Hello,
Don't know if you speak french (my language) or spanish sure you speak "basque" (which I don't!), so I'll continue in english (grrrr!).
Have you a link to download the AG-HMC151E user guide, which I couldn't find on Panasonic websites, and where did you buy your camera (HMC151E I guess)
Thank you and best regards from Tahiti (there's a lot of Basques there!)

You can't record 50/60Hz content on the same SD card, though. Not much of a problem.

And I've noted that scene sttings anly work in the mode you set them up, if you set them while you are in PAL you can't use them when in NTSC.

I have a little issue with my HMC 151E. I tried to switch it to NTSC coz i wanted to shoot something in 60p for an action sport slowmotion. So i set it as 59.9 Hz, i turn my camera off, I turn it on back and it says: " Cannot be used due to incompatible data". I cannot record nothing when in NTSC. I tried different recording modes also but it still says this message.

I tried with two different card's brand and for sure i empty the cards before i switch in NTSC (i even formatted them). There is no PAL footages on theses cards.

Does anyone had the same issue and could tell me how to fix it ? Thanks Xx

You need to FORMAT the card in the camera AFTER you switch. If you don't format it still has the last setting used on the card - and if it's the wrong one then you can't record anything.
