I know DVX100A is good, but I want to know how DVX100A + anamorphic adaptor is. Please check these screen grab of another cheap camera, I need some advise on how DVX100A will be better than these, in which way, and help me to make an upgrade decision. Thanks a lot.

The color of the middle grab, the one of the butterfly is awesome. A cheap camera? What kind of cheap camera can take shots like that? The DVX100a is an awesome camera. The color and detail you get from the CCD's kicks ass. If you throw on the anamorphic adaptor it keeps the res and makes it 16:9 which is sweet. The only issue I have had with it is when I do not have a field monitor in hand, I cannot film without the squished distortion. Framing then is more of a guess work, at least for me. I am very particular on how things are framed and without being able to frame things correctly without a field moniter or camera mounted 3rd-party LCD bugs me. Oh well. The camera is most definately the best miniDV cam on the market in my opinion.

Not the first picture....but the second and third actually look like they *could* have been shot with a DVX...a 3-CCD camera at least...The first one looks pretty washed out, and doesn't look like it has the extra range in the exposure latitude
that the DVX gives.

But what Kyle said is basically it...the adaptor will give you full resolution in 16:9, provided you focus it properly (and focusing becomes more difficult with the adaptor, apparently).

The DVX (and the adaptor) have given some of the most cinematic looking images that I've seen on DV. Provided you light and compose professionally, you can achieve amazing results!

The colors (while nice) in those grabs look a bit subdued in the saturation... The cinegamma of the dvx will give you nice latitude, as well as all the control over your pedestal, etc to crush your blacks.

The camera is sony pdx10. The camera is ok under cloudy day, but in sunny day, well, that's the first grab...so I am thinking dvx100....one thing good about pdx is it does true 16x9...so I want to know how dvx100+anamorphic will do, I don't want to lose 16x9 feature..

I . . . wouldn't call a PDX10 "another cheap camera." *It's not in the class of the DVX, but it's no 1-CCD consumer cam, either. * It's a nice little cam. *No way you'll get grabs like that with something you'll pick up for $700 at Circuit City . . .

That top image doesn't look THAT bad; it's in anamorphic squeeze, for one thing, and with a few settings adjustments, it could have been a salvageable shot. No reason for the PDX10 to take a poor shot like that.
