Quick question: Does anyone know if the Panasonic HVX200 is manufactured in the U.S.A.? Is this a North American model (under the HVX200 model number) or is it a worldwide product?
TIA,
Dale

The RED ONE is made in Singapore.
Really?
But is it assembled there, or actually manufactured there?

RED ONE is 100% assembled and manufactured in Singapore. It is the most ruggedly designed camera body that I have ever seen. Last weekend, 2 Red One was "car rigged" to a Tahoe. The truck driver that tows the Tahoe brushed the RED ONE to a side of a toll booth.
One of the cameras ricochet and hit the other camera. Busted a bunch of stuff, ie: the bottom plate, the 19mm rods, cradle and scratched the exterior of the 50 + 35 zeiss super speeds. The day after, we were still shooting and wrapped the production. Of course, the Zeiss would probably need to be recalibrate and both REDs will be sent to RED for inspection.

I kinda figured it was manufactured overseas but I was hoping for the U.S.A.
Simply put, if Canadian tariffs wants to charge me for the HVX200 I just bought from someone in Connecticut, I could've gotten around the whole issue if the camera was manufactured in the U.S. The Free Trade agreement would've allowed me to bypass getting goods manufacturer in the same country :(
I shouldn't be surprised though (and I'm totally not), everything is done overseas. A Toronto Football Club jersey (retail like $85+ here in Toronto) can be bought and shipped (ebay) from Singapore or the Phillipines for half the price... weird.
Oh well, I shouldn't complain, I have a Hyundai too, definitely not made in North America!
