Are you sure that's an EX1? I feel let down. That didn't look plasticky at all... :(

What kind of question is that? Are you certain that DVX doesn’t record 35mm film?

SGpro soften the image (like al adapters on the market), like certain film also has a soft image.

David relax. I thought the footage was beautiful.

Alright then. By that answer I had to ask a decoder to break out the opinion.

:)

Nice vid!

David, my smartass comment was pointing to the fact that the image didn't look "like video" as so many are fond of saying the EX1 always looks like. Note, I own an EX1.

Hence my signature...

What was your zoom setting on the EX1?

82-83. With the 28mm the vignetting is very visible. More zoom don't change it. With long focals lenses I always find both vertical sides slighty dark. What zoom do you use Richard?

I have the new achromat for the sgpro. It helps a lot, but there is still a small amount of fall off. I've been using the camera bare for the last two projects (docs) and zooming all the way in. The results have been surprising good, but no where near an ex1 with a properly functioning 35mm adapter. I am hoping that the adapter makers will work out some of the last limitations. Here are some grabs shot with a bare EX1.

Most of the time I work without adapter and I like the sharper images the ex1 produces (like your grabs)
I also have the new achromat (ex1 fix that don't fix all). I like the Sgpro. The slight vignetting don't bother me at all, I had seen it in most works with the ex1 + extreme combo. I think the ultimatte is another matter, we'll see the Blade.

Any chance we could get some of this raw footage? I'd love to see how it color corrects.
