For those that are not on the east coast of the United States, I feel it is my duty as an American to inform you about the Cicadas. ;D The cicada looks like a giant cockroach with wings that hibernates in the ground for 17 years (in North America, I hear it is different for other places) and then comes out in MASSES. And when I say masses, I mean they come out with the attempt to "shock and awe" all humans. I don't know the details of their life cycle, but I think they basically come out of the ground, then have to shed out of their first layer, then they fly around and annoy everybody outside. They are loud and annoying because there are so many.
Cicadas are found in other parts of the world so maybe those who are in Asia and Australia can report their findings on this bug as well.
And if you are feeling a little hungry, here is a link to a recipe book with all your favorite varieties of cicadas to eat!
