Thumbing through the Netflix On Demand service, I came upon this little gem from the 80s.

Look me in the eye and tell me this film doesn't rock your pants off.

So as Denzel would say: "Man the F*ck up," and admit your man-crush on Michael Pare, and give some props to this great goof-ball flick from the 80s.

Walter Hill, Ry Cooder, Rick Moranis, Bill Paxton, Diane Lane doing her best Meatloaf impression, what could possibly go wrong?

Yeah those were Jim Steinman songs.

And Diane Lane was smooookin' in that film. Great editing and art direction and the sledgehammer scene with Willem Dafoe was great. And Amy Madigan kicked ass.

but Michael Pare...? Notsomuch.

but Michael Pare...? Notsomuch.

Well you know what they say: When you can't afford Micky Rouke, you get Michael Pare.

But I also just saw Ed Begley Jr. and man-oh-man Willem DaFoe has the shiniest set of galoshes ever made!

Funny, I just read this review over at AICN about the Streets of Fire sequel, which is supposedly pretty atrocious--

You know a review is going to be bad when it starts "As threatened..."

Hey, I saw Streets of Fire on the big screen and thought it was a hoot.

Sorry but I'm there for all of 'em.

Call me whatever.

One thing I know: My next film includes a sledge-hammer fight. Might be tough since I'm working on that script about Mother Teresa, but I'll get it in there somehow...

Mark, most people don't know this but Mother T was a cage fighter at one time.
