Larry, could you please clarify what constitutes "outside promotion"?

If a cast or crew member mentions the shooting of the film in their blog, is that against the rules? If the film is mentioned in a general, what's new fashion, with no mention of DVXuser or the Twilight festival, is that against the rules? What if a BTS photo is posted on the blog?

Wouldn't want to get disqualified because of a misunderstanding.

I would think they would want it on blogs talking about the film and with a link back to DVXuser.com to watch it. Just not showing the film.

Definitely try and link back to DVXuser.

Per the rules, outside promotion of your film is not allowed. Now, that said, you are certainly free to tell people you are working on a film, to tell them what it's about, etc.

But prior to the viewing launch, this discussion should be for the purpose of getting people involved in the project. The "no outside promotion" rule is basically a no non-dvxuser advertising rule. In other words, you are free to pimp your entry here within your individual thread, talk about it, show bts grabs, frame captures, try to drum up interest so people are excited to watch, etc but not show actual footage from the film.

I would suggest you request to your crew that they refrain from blogging about the project until after viewing has opened. If he just has to put something up in direct opposition to your request, then ask him to please limit the information to "I worked on a project titled Blah" and maybe a grab or two, as a tease with "more information to come soon". Or something like that.

In the future we may allow a bit more outside promotion, but for now it's still expressly prohibited.

What about a trailer that promotes your film, but contains NO footage from it?

If you post it on DVXuser.... probably?
A few blooper clips have already been posted here. The rule is, as long as it doesn't contain used footage from your entry.

I don't see why not.
They've also allowed music so I don't see why you can't use your score as the backdrop either.

Better check with a Mod first though.
