So I just got the Letus Extreme and I'm looking to build a lens package for it. I know the focal length on the HVX opens at 4.2mm but is there a difference when compared to the nikon lens at 24mm? For example, if I were use the built-in-lens on the HVX and zoom to a 24mm, would that be the same as the Nikon at 24mm? Unless I get a fisheye, there isn't a 35mm lens that goes wider than the HVX which is 4.2mm.

Compared to lenses on a movie camera, the HVX has a 4.4x focal length factor. So at 4.2mm, it's equivalent to about a 19mm lens on a 35mm movie camera.

So Barry, what is the focal length factor of the HPX170? I've been trying to calculate the 35mm equivalents throughout the zoom range but haven't been able to find any definitive answers...
