Shrigg's vendor, fullcompass had the best price I could find (and I have been scouring sites and gettings qotes for 2 weeks now): its the first time I have found an authorized retailer beat B&H by such a large margin...and include shipping. Shrigg->
So I finally ordered one. Shrigg and Thomas Lew's footage finaly put my mind to rest. Thanks guys- and now I can shoot my own candlelight clips :)
Until I could see the clips, I was hesitant based on Panny's CCD pixel numbers compared to Sony's in the $3500 price range. But I am convinced that larger and more sensitive pixels are better for color and noise in the long run, even if its a lower number. Sometimes you have to forget about specs and just look at the footage....
and the proof is in the pudding, and pudding is so delicious :Drogar-Love(DBG):
I hope to pay it forward and post clips soon: I will be taking it up north to shoot some nature shots ala Discovery Channel's Sunrise Earth
Batteries are on backorder though, so hopefully the stock one can get me through till then.

In the same boat; great deal, and if you talked to the same guy, probably the least pushy salesperson giving that kind of deal. Didn't push any accessories, but you can't pass on the battery deal. Thanks again, Darren.
I may have gotten on the list right before you, just got my battery yesterday and news is their second shipment just arrived today :Drogar-Evil(DBG): Was honestly expecting to have to wait a while for more stock, who would have thought second shipments would be making it out before the target release date, Pany is looking to kill on this one.
I'm already REALLY impressed by some night footage so far, would like to see if it stands a chance against the dreaded flash or strobe. I know the HVX will be champ in that area, but I think the CCD and codec will beat out the ex1 in that department.

Sweet guys! Glad to share my vendor. Ryan was my rep before this, he was totally cool about quoting all different camera for me and has been wonderful to work with throughout the entire HMC150 pre-ordering process (I ordered on Aug. 2)
Another person I sent his way is getting two HMC150's and an HPX500, all at similarly sweet prices!

To make sure everything works correctly it's best to leave the card's contents intact and not split it up. Sorry about the bandwidth-busting file size but I thought it was very important to demo ALL framerates in a wide variety of conditions

You done good!
I still had quality questions but the test footage you did really put me at ease.
Panasonic should give you a cut on 150 sales.

I, too, can vouch for Ryan. He's a great guy, very helpful, and their pricing is top notch. Full Compass will be my first call from now on.
