I guess this show totally jumped the shark, and landed in the sharks mouth, at which point the shark chewed it up, crapped it out, and then edited it into a new show.

I hope it evolves into what WAS...

I'm really going to miss it. Even Roeper and "the other guy" wasn't bad... hmm... will the two Bens get it sorted?

This was definitely a case of something that wasn't broken and didn't need fixing.

Ben Lyons sux. Have you guys EVER seen him give a negative movie review? I guess now technically he will have to.

if you mean it would be better to have the show off the air then I guess that's valid. But both Ebert and Roeper decided individually that they were ready to move on. So either new hosts or no show. New hosts makes sense to me.

God I hope they get it together... both of them... BOTH of them agreed that Eagle Eye was a definite SEE IT... and meanwhile it's 29% on rottentomatoes... well guess what? I'm going to see Eagle Eye because I already wanted to... and after hearing their detailed arguments about why to see it... I'm going to flip the switch after this film... yay, or nay.

Yes I loved the original show... and even ALL the shows/fill-ins afterward, but what made it great was not just the people, but the delivery and the concise debate about the films reviewed. Let's see if they can get that back... because right now, they don't have it.

No, I meant they messed around with the format of the show. It was two guys, in the balcony, reviewing movies. That's it. They added all this other crap with panels and different sets to make it more "dynamic", when all people care about are the review of the movie.

There can be only one Siskel & Ebert. But, times have changed. People grow old, shows have to come to an end somehow. I'll get over it soon enough. Something new and different is good, at times.

I'm reading EBERT ON SCORSESE currently

Ebert is a class act; I am seeing a seide of him I never knew. He is a true cinephile and knows his shite.

I've always been an unabashed Ebert fan :)
