So, very rough estimates here, but what are some of your budgets for this fest? I know they'll probably be a great range, from $25 to $2500, but I'm so curious.

2500? mine is less than that, but I bet many will be much higher.

My budget? Lets see...

Subtract the 2, multiply by 6, add in that, take away and reverse this...

I'd say it's close to about 30 bucks.

This is my biggest budget yet. I've stayed under $75 before, but this time I think I'm around $1000. Most of it went to renting a camera and paying actors and buying lunches for 8-10 people.

£120 - £150 for Filming Camcorders & Accessories.
(I like my toys..)
£30 on VSX
£90 on Permits
£20 - £30 on Catering

Nothing on Firearms, Vehicles, Carriages, Booze & Guitar.

Still got a lot to add up. Looking nice and pricey already.

I had about 5 dollars layed out, but I already spent it on gas

Probably about $100 dollars on equipment. (would have been more if i had rented instead of borrowed) And then probably $50 on food and gas. Not bad...

Same here. Most went to food and a donation for the location use.

600ish.

Came in well under budget. Expected 2000 - but I downscaled the project.

Yeah... a free door with an EYE in it!

2 films for this fest, the first one about $310.00... this second one will be somewhere in the range of $100 (mostly food & a few props).

Those of you who ARE spending a few grand on this, are you planning to take it further to other festivals or find a way to further your career with it, or do you just have the income to do so for pleasure?

F*ck yes! I wish I had the income to spend like this...

The budget is actually split between myself and 2 other producers... after Twilight we definitely want to submit elsewhere and see how far we can milk it...

I do plan to take it to festivals, but mostly I'm just spending all this money because I'd been saving up for a bit. And also because as an Alaskan resident I, like every other Alaskan resident, recently got $3269 from the state government's Permanent Fund Division.

Our budget is whatever we can scrape out of our pockets. When all said and done it will be a few hundred bucks, mostly going to be spent on keeping the actors happy.

Sleep Walk's Budget

$50 for the CO2 gun
$40 for the hotel room
$10 for unused glow sticks
$30 for food

$130 total

ps there is still a $41 credit floating out there somewhere from the first Hotel fiasco.

Lets see we used like 4 tapes and all the locations I got for free. So I am gonna say with my employee discount from Pizza Hut I spent somewhere around $35.

I was like Hank Paulson shoveling out the benjamins. I figured I'd better spend it while it still has SOME value. Ended up being around $999.71 and 7 haypennys.

Foresight came in at $0.00. I re-used everything from an earlier film, shot in my parents garage and my friend's bar. And every location was within a few miles of each other. It was quick and dirty.

You're lucky, I didn't think my budget for my current LossFest project was gonna exceed maybe $250, $350 MAX. Looks like closer to $1k.

Ah well. Sometimes one must drain shallow pockets.

Lol don't you guys feed your actors? I take it a lot of you shot in just a day or two, but I thought feeding the cast and crew was law, even on no budget films.

Of course, this is coming from a college filmmaker who so far has managed to get other people to shell out the money ;)
