Hello!

I wanted to know for sure what are all the bugs that the EX1 can have out of the box (and how can I test them to see if I have them) as I want to send it to Sony to fix al these things.

After all the reading on the forums and the Web I think these are all of them:

1) Battery draining issue - I have this

2) ND filters causing backfocus. This happens only when you change the filters right? If I just shoot with the same filter on the camera or check the focus regurarly I shouldn't have any problem right ? Or was it something about the focus changing when you go through the zoom range ?

3) IR light problem. I'm a little confused about this. How can I test if I have this ? Shoot a red material in very lowlight ?

These are 3 main problems that I know of and would be important to me. If you guys know of any other buggy thing about the EX1 i'd appreciate the help.

Where can I find the latest version of the firmware for the camera and what improvements it would bring. As i know the firmware can only be updated if I send the camera to Sony.

My camera heats up pretty much in the card section of the body. Is this normal ? I mean it heats up to the point that I cannot keep my fingers on it for more than 10-15 seconds.

After I turn it on if I hold it close to my ear I can hear ...ummm..."electronic sounds" when i move the rings on the lens. There is also the humming when the camera is on but I assume this is the normal operation noise ?

How can I turn the LCD to show black and white. If I bring it to -99 saturation in the menu it still shows colours. Is this OK ?

thanks!!
