Don't know if anyone has heard of it. Here's the site.

Anyway, I just did it this past weekend. I was the editor for my team of 24. It was definitally one of the best experiences I ever have, and if there is one near you, I suggest you do it!!

Very cool. I watched 36 of DC's 59 films this past weekend. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to shoot this year, but I'm putting together a team for next year. What was your genre/prop/line?

I'm really bummed >:(
I wonder why Chicago is not one of the cities for this contest.

My genre was mock-u-mentary, the prop was a dog, and the line was "Your in the groove, Jackson."

I like the line--I'm sure it will be cracking up the audience. Can you post your film? Not sure if the rules allow that.

Ecoloco--Chicago would be a natural. It probably just needs someone to get up off their duff and organize the thing. I'm also surprised that Chicago's not participating. Check with the organizers to see what's up--it's an amazing event.

Ya know, I'm not sure if I can post it or not. Or rather, the question being will the director or producer want to post it. Not sure about that, I'll ask em after the premier.

Click on Dublin. *Somehow that links to something about Chicago. *They are considering Chicago, I emailed them already about it. *I am so in. *Are any of you in the ChiTown area? *Maybe we could hook up and collaborate if they end up coming to Chicago?

TC-
I was one of the two editors for my team (only 11 of us :o) a few weekednds ago. I'm in DC. Our line was "You know I love the ______", out character was S. Baxter, professonial phtographer and our prop was a rubber duck. This was my first year doing to contest, but like you said it was great fun. I reccomend anyone who can to do it. Unfortunatley we shot with a GL-1 (well maybe not so unfortunate, but would have rather had a DVX ;)) Maybe next year. Anyway, great time, it was awesome seeing all of the other films.

48 hour film project has been around for few years as a gateway to many aspiring filmmakers with DV cameras in their hands. There are many similar competitions in which you have to write, shoot, and edit in 24- 72 hours.

I think NYC Moviemaking madness had $10,000 grandprize last year.

Good excercise and opprtunity for some exposure and networking. But you shouldn't expect industry excecutives to be on site. More of filmmaking for fun type of stuff. Anyway good stuff.
