strange lines with pmw ex3

This friend was shooting in the field and called me to see if I had ever seen this problem. She said she was seeing horizontal lines on her viewfinder, in live mode and playback. They were transparent and would slowly "roll" to the top of the frame. She was shooting to card, if that helps.

Ultimately, she switched the "full auto" off, and the problem dissapeared. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I'm not an ex3 owner or user, she called me because she is new to all cameras.

Probably was shooting under HMI or fluorescent lights. This is a common "rolling shutter" effect, which can sometimes be controlled by selecting 1/60 or 1/40 shutter speed.
