Just got my D90 today! Woot. Have been messing around with it during the little free-time I've had. But I can't seem to figure out the AE lock. Am I to assume it should lock before recording so I don't have to continuously hold it during recording? I am pressing half way down on the shutter, then pressing the AEL button. The AEL icon appears, but then when the buttons are released, it disappears and during recording the exposure shifts still. I've been dealing with it by just holding the AEL button down during recording, but I was under the impression I should be able to LOCK it before recording. What am I doing wrong?
