Any tip as far as the auto focus is concerned? Will it work with the HD movie capability?

I saw a Canon rep demo it. It doe AF in movie mode. It uses contrast detect in live mode.
it's contrast. what else?
it beeps when it finishes but it takes a few seconds
see the samples i've posted. you can even hear the beep

I think once movie recording starts autofocus stops working, just like the D90.

Seeing how slowly the D90's contrast detection works in Live View (but not while recording), I wouldn't place much value on contrast detect AF as a feature.

Autofocus is functional both before and during recording, but as it's the contrast detect type it will be slow (essentially, autofocus during recording acts the same as when using contrast detect autofocus in Live View generally: the camera incrementally steps the autofocus until proper focus is achieved). The lack of true tracking autofocus will limit its usefulness during capture. That said, the fact that the camera can be refocused without first stopping the capture or resorting to manual focus is a step up from no autofocus at all.
What exactly does it mean?
Can anyone translate in dummy language? No DSLR at home...
