In the UK?
I know if you want voice actors, there's voice123.com but obviously it doesn't matter where you are located as you'd get your voice via mail but is there such a thing for live action actors? If so, in the UK?

I am not sure if you are using the term the way I know it but around here an 'action actor' is a stunt person who is also trained to act. That way they can use them for lines and action. I don't know where in the UK to find them but if you know the names of any Key Stunt people or coordinators, they are bound to know where you can find some.
Not sure that helped much but hope it gives you somewhere to start. Big studio around London but the name escapes me now...might look in to calling and seeing if they can refer you. Plus...lots of the actors who train for classic theatre get stunt and fight training..worth a shot too!

Here in Los Angeles, if I throw a script out the window, it'll hit five actors on the way down.

I don't know about you but since I attend a university I just hit up the Theatre/Film Department. I found someone who writes scripts and she knew many actors and had everything planned out within a week. All i'm doing right now is shooting/editing/music.
So that's always an option. Post a flyer up or something. I'm sure there are plenty of theatre people that are dying to see what they can do on film. I guess this method could be a little hit and miss as far as good acting goes but that's the way it is.

Try www.nowcasting.com (http://www.nowcasting.com). You'll have to register, but it's free.
In the Advanced Search section, you can choose "Location". Two of the choices are "England" and "London". Hope that helps.

I attended a college that had that department but it was 3 years ago. That's a nice option too. Thanks mate

One way is to go to plays and try to talk to the actors afterwards. They hugely appreciate you coming down to watch what they are doing in the place they really love, the theatre. I'm not talking about huge west end productions, but smaller theatre's where they have a drink in the bar afterwards. This especially works if you have low or no budget and you want to get them enthousiastic about your project. You can also call producers from films/tv series/... they did in the past and ask for contact details. Anyway, this all works fine in Belgium, I suppose the UK is globally the same...

another way to look for actors is through myspace. I know a ton of actors/actresses that are listed on there and a vast majority of them ( like myself ) will even have clips of work they've done or demo reels as well as shots from previous projects so you can get a feel for thier look/range etc... just a thought since myspace will also let you search by a range from where you are.

Oops, had to correct my mistake even if it is too late.
Ironman I thought you were talking 'action actors' when in fact you were seeking actors for a 'live action film'.
My mistake...glad someone else caught it but had to correct my mistake!
