I honestly don't care if I see another Star Wars movie again for the rest of my life. Same with Indiana Jones. I've seen Raiders about fifty times, same with the original Star Wars films (Star Wars, Empire, Jedi), and while watching a documentary about the trilogy this weekend on the History channel i just realized I'm done with Star Wars. There is no more pleasure to be had there for me. It's like a drug addict needing more and more of the same drug until it ceases to become pleasurable. This has nothing to do with my opinion of the films changing. I'm just finished.

Star Wars no longer carries the same magic for me as it once did. Lucas has simply muddled up the entire franchise. I'm tired of hearing about Clone Wars and Jedi's. Is there nothing original that can stem from the Star Wars universe ?
Seeing lightsabres leaves me ill. Even the fan films are played out; all of them about Jedi's.
I was disappointed, predictably, with Indy 4. But I've suspected for years they were going to screw it up after Crusade.

How about Aliens movies? They were fine back in the day... but two Alien vs Predator movies? (Predator would be another franchise I'd like to see put down)

Dogma is good, but my favorite stand by on those certain occasions is still the original Clerks. Or Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but mostly Clerks.

LIES!! LIES!! :P Nah that one isn't one on my list for this thread, but if I had to pick a few...it would DEFINITELY be the Star Wars Prequels. If I ever see one of those again, its too soon. The old ones never get old for me.
I seem to be one of those people who can even watch a terrible movie over and over again. I'm not sure what it is about movies overall but even if there is one little bit of something to pull out of it...I end up watching it over and over and probably buying it on DVD. :)
Some movies are so bad I just have to own them, just to give to someone sometimes LOL. "Have you seen this piece?" *hands over dvd* "this is what NOT to do in a film"
In the end its all about education right, haha.
Star Wars- Agreed. its just completely milked dry.
The Mask- Every 2 to 3 months
Ghost- valentine's Day- EVERY FREAKIN YEAR.
These immediately come to mind. They are constantly playing, either on cable or on open broadcast.

I dont agree with Saw. I could watch those movies forever...even if i know the twists...the film work still leaves me awe-struck.
Movies that CAN'T watch again...on the other hand:
Shawshank Redemption - It's just too much, all the time
Zombie Strippers - not because i've seen it too much...it makes me physically ill
Almost everything with Steve Carell - he isnt that funny
Man...its tough to pick movies you dont want to watch...i know there are more...but they would have to come on for me to realize it.

Shawshank Redemption in my opinion was about a worthless film, watched it once, the writing was good, Fredman was awesome but oh my God Tim Robbins sucked. and he is normally an ok actor. but as far as Shawshank Redemption goes, Can you say over acting? sure I knew you could. replace him with an actor who knows how to act and it would be a great film.
films i'd never like to see again, well never is a long time, anything by Micheal moore, anything with jane Fonda, except On Golden Pond, that was an amazing film. meet the flockers, the gods must be crazy part 2, the loaded weapon spoof films. oh the ring, the last 20 minutes of the last lord of the rings, yes another starwars, i know there are more.

I think this thread is about overindulgant abuse, not simply bad movies.
Ferris Bueller came on the tellie today, and you know what? I enjoyed it. It's different now, it's nostalgic (like a lot of the music I listen to). It may be the ultimate nostalgic film for people facing 40. I've seen it dozens of times. I should be sick of it but I'm just not.
Part of the problem of HBO and the other channels is that they negociate a few duration contracts then they play that movie over and over. You can get sick of that real quick.

I basically completely disagree with everything written here.
The Star Wars films are the greatest films ever made, all 6, and I never get tired of watching them. I watched The Phantom Menace 50 times in theaters, have ticket stubs to prove each viewing, Attack of the Clones 54 times, and Revenge of the Sith 24 times. I only got to see The Clone Wars 3 times, was too busy, but it was awesome for fans, too. Screw the critics.
And the new Star Wars animated show that premiered last night, available on iTunes now, is totally awesome!!! I loved it. I can't wait to see more, it's really exciting to get a new Star Wars story every week, instead of having to wait forever, haha. And a new live-action show coming in not too long. Star Wars is in its prime, I'm sorry for people who can't enjoy it, that's really a shame. The saga has never been stronger. And Revenge of the Sith was the best reviewed, most-favored Star Wars film of the saga, so the six-film opus ended on a great note commercially, critically, and with fans.
I try to watch the Star Wars films regularly, but then again I have about a $75,000 Star Wars collection and have authored two books on the subject with an essay written for a third, so I'm pretty die-hard ;)
Indy 4 was really good, I thought. It was every bit as good as the other three. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I really enjoyed it, lots of fun.
I also have to completely disagree about Bond. I never got the negativity, every film Brosnan did was at least good. I think The World is Not Enough was the weakest entry, though I still really enjoyed it, but Die Another Day rocked, Tomorrow Never Dies was great, Goldeneye was the best, and I think Brosnan was the best bond. Casino Royale, though, showed a lot of promise for the new Bond and it was a great film, too, I don't think, however, that it was some massive step above any of the Brosnan films. I didn't see that. I just thought, ok this was a great film, not like it was The Dark Knight compared to Batman Forever, though, I mean come on. But I've always loved Bond.
It's tough to think of movies I'm tired of watching, I mean I try to put them out of my mind, haha. I guess I'd vote The Matrix films, though. I was a huge fan of The Matrix, but the last two movies were great action films and pretty much of a mess in every other respect. Also the Wachowski brothers got on my nerves with their arrogance. They said something about how they would make sure their sequels were all about the plot and they'd be these great sequels, "unlike The Phantom Menace and George Lucas's Star Wars sequels," as if these couple of idiots were smarter than Lucas. Well obviously not, because the prequels had a fantastic, epic plot, and the two Matrix sequels had the stupidest, murkiest plot imaginable. Absolute crap. I wish they had left it at just The Matrix. Even that movie has been overplayed and it got annoying how it was given credit for way too many things that weren't original -- the plot was basically just Dark City / Truman Show, it wasn't that original, although I do like the way it was done. Then the effects were just a knock-off of a Gap commercial, that wasn't new technology. It was a great film but I think it has aged somewhat poorly. It's still highly enjoyable, but it's not like "whoa most amazing movie ever." It kind of went out of style.

You are beyond die hard. You are in the upper echelon of Star Wars geekdom...Again, it has nothing to do with my opinion of the first three films (which I love), I just see no purpose in seeing them again. They've worn a groove in my brain and I get no joy out of them. However, I seriously question the sanity of anyone who would watch The Phantom Menace 50 times. Once was enough for me.

Man, I just cant think of any. I usually only watch any movie twice tops, unless I want to take a long hard look at some shots - then I dont watch whole thing. Its more a case of what a parent is forced to watch repeatedly, from that angle I would have to say if I was made to watch the original Shreck again I might do something drastic. Its currently hidden.
