Is it pretty easy to view clips on the ex1 after you shoot them? I know the hvx's were really quick and easy to view right after you shoot and just wondering how it worked on the ex1. Also, how quick can the ex1 be turned on and recording in a run-and-gun situation?

Thanks, I'm narrowing down my camera search between hpx170 and ex1.

If those are important questions to you, go with the Panasonic.

There's a little tit next door to the expanded focus button (above the main record button) that enables you to review the last shot. You can select the whole clip, 10 seconds or 3 seconds (maybe 5). I leave it on 10 seconds.

Clients LOVE it. "Yes you look beautiful, sound amazing, and it's all in focus and framed nicely".

From 'off', you're ready to shoot in about seven seconds. If you leave the camera on, it seems ready to shoot whenever.

Thanks Matt. Well I'm leaning more towards the ex1 now mainly due to the fact that the sxs cards fit directly into my macbook pro. Thanks for the input. Thats a big help.

The SxS workflow is a lot nicer then Panasonics. Plugging right into your Macbook Pro, faster transfer rates, and high compression.
