I have run into this issue once again, so while I have it fresh in mind, I'll report on it here:
I was filming the Whitewood/Molly Hatchet concert (as a paid service provider) earlier this evening and have imported the footage into Premiere CS3.2.
At three points in the concert, there was an audio glitch--a fraction of a second of audio that's out of time with the rest of the audio, on the Premiere timeline.
Back in Clip Browser, the audio is fine, but I noted little orange essense marks at the points where I heard the glitches in Premiere--presumably these essence marks indicate split points in the spanning clips. The 45-minute clip spans four files.
My workaround is to have Clip Browser export MXF files, which I import to CS3 and render out the audio track only. Then I disassociate the original audio and marry the MXF audio to the track(s) affected.
It's a bit of extra work, but it is necessary if you want an audio track that is free of glitches. Premiere users should be aware of this issue for long-form projects that result in files over 3.49GB in size.
