I found a tutorial but can't get it to work. I think a few steps are missing. Like where did the alpha come from in step 4. And when he sais 'load selection' does the mean Ctrl-click on the layer in question?
Can someone give it a try?

Hey Gord I did the tutorial but it didn't turn out like the picture so I made some adjustments here is the file.

To answer your question to load a selection control click on a layer.

Hows everything going?

Your welcome glad it worked out for you! Sounds like fun what model or can you say?

Let me know you if you need any more PS help. I'm starting a new model at this moment in Cinema 4D.

Working on the spitfire. I decided I'll have to render seperate sections in multipass in order to get the detail I want. So I can get on with the paint now anyways.
Having a blast. Also painting with some 3D total textures.

Also have to texture a boogy man for the fest. Just waiting for the hi-res artwork then I
can place them on the UV's in PS and touch it up.

And a couple toon birds that I have to texture. Not sure exactly what I'll be doing there.
Taking a break from those for a few days.

Sounds like fun! Your spitfire was looking quite nice last time I saw it. Boogy man that sounds really interesting. Are you creating the figure in Cinema then rig and animate?

The monster model I did in C4D. It'll be handed over to someone else to be rigged and animated in Maya. Assuming all goes well, I'll post some stuff in my thread about it after the fest is over.

I'm getting better at PS but there sure are a lot of secret hot keys in that program.
