I am sorry if there is a sticky about this already,

I am still learning After Effects, and am wondering what compositing actually means, is that adjusting the whole composition in different ways, such as color correction, effects, etc? Or am I just completely wrong?

As for color correction, can someone give me a link or a place where I can go to study up on that? I want to be able to achieve good results, but without good knowledge on how to do it I won't be able too.

Thanks for the help!

Compositing is essentially the combining of images. A composite is just separate parts combined into one. This really entails everything, from masking to color correction. Not color correction in general, but color correction to get the pieces of your composite to match. To learn about some color correction and keeping things accurate and clean throughout the process, browse around Stu Maschwitz's blog at prolost.blogspot.com. He has some very in-depth explanations there about the process.
