Hey,
I'm thinking of building a new system to run Vegas pro with possibly windows XP64. I currently have 2x single core Xeon 2.8Ghz 2Gig of RAM Loads of Hard disc space(win XP 32bit). I find it quite usable with an HD work load but somewhat trying on my patience. Real-time previewing can be terribly jerky in Good(full) or even Good (half) and if you add any grading then forget it. In which case, even turning the quality of the preview down makes no effect. And on this point of grading ; I'm getting a bit sick of the long rendering times. I've been looking into either a Core2Quad or a dual - Xeon Quad core with about 6-8 Gig of Ram. While I'm sure it'll speed up my rendering times I'm not sure about the realtime previewing. This why I'd like to hear from anyone with either a Core2Quad or xeon dual/quad and share their experiences about their setup with me- what life is like editing on eithe rof those systems.I need to find out if the extra money for the Xeon Quad setup is worth it, over the cheaper Core2Quad setup- with empahsis on the smoothness of a good quality real-time preview. Thanks
