Video is a white box

I am bringing some footage over from FCP into After Effects and all that shows up is a white box.

Is there some sort of particular settings I should have when capturing footage into FCP so that AE will be able to use it?

The footage is HDV 1080i 60 29.97

what do you mean "bringing over"? are you taking the captured files straight from your scratch disk?

Is this on the same computer? Or two different computers?
