Render Engine / Farm

Hi all. Sorry if this has been covered. I didnt find it.

I am working on a very render intensive project in AE. I have the main project on a dual 1.8 G5 and am tring to farm out to (2) powerbook G4s. One of the G4s has 512 ram (was 1 gig but something happened) - that powerbook I was able to install the render engine just fine and have it slaving away. The second... is 1 gig ram - but cant sync to the farm. When I load the REngine it brings up the search box, looking for my "watch" folder, then blinks onto the project for a second, but returns to the search. It doesnt lock on.

I have had 20 hours + of render time and really need to make this work.
I am using a NetGear hub to connect all to the internal network....


Any ideas?

Okay _ I got it working on all 3 computers. I did the "collect files" all over again and it seemed to work.... but here is the next question...

Once you have that processing on all 3 computers...2 g4s and g5 in the background... when you send your next section to render que do you have to do a collect files again or will the render engins just catch on?
