Will a battery grip boost the frames per second on this camera? I know it shoots 4.5 but is there a way to get more?

you can't
d300 could shoot higher fps but the default battery wasn't powerful enough
using a grip would allow for different types of batteries or the AA type to be used so the max fps achieved
d90 doesn't have enough cmos readout channels to go faster that 4.5
a grip would function just like a normal grip
