HVX200 No Tape Playback

Recently my HVX has been unable to playback any DV footage on tape. When you enter DV mode you get a solid blue screen and no time code shows throughout the tape. There was no signs of the heads wearing out prior and the record head seems fine. Recording shows time code and then plays back in DVX fine with no apparent skipping or signs of a dirty record head. Ran Panasonic head cleaner in VCR mode but no change.

Just wondering if there is a magic switch or how a play head would get to the point it would show nothing at all but the record head functions fine.

I recently had an issue with the tape system on my HVX. My problem was large blocky artifacts on layback. I too, used the recommended Panasonic head cleaner but that made no difference. I thought I had a bad batch of tapes but I sent the camera back to Panasonic for a checkup and they changed the mechanism.

I am the only person to use the camera and the mechanism was never strained.

Have you tried resetting the camera?
