Hello all.
I am using CS3 and particular to create an army out of one guy posed in multiple positions. The problem is trying to match a camera move in AE. When we move the camera, the horizon line of the army is changed in conjunction to the actual horizon. However particular wont allow us to animate the keyframe on the x or y positions.
Is there some check box or something I am missing? Particular will allow you to animate the keyframes right... what else would they be for?

Settings:
Emitter- box = have tried all of them.
Bi-Directional
Custom particle

We did try multiple resolutions of the particle to see if that would have an affect. No dice. We are emitting a huge amount of particles, but have tried it with small amounts as well. No dice.

We are emitting "600" amount of particles at second 0. And at second 1 we are emitting "0" particles - so that the army does not populate, but exists.

Any ideas?

I' ve read somewhere that particles in Particular auto orient to the camera.
There should be a trick on the net somewhere. It wasn't on videocopilot.
Google it.

Are you trying to move the emitter? Because you can pickwhip it over to a Null object and use the Null object to move the emitter around.

If that is what you are going for - if not, sorry. Trouble processing stuff today - pretty sick at home.

Over at www.wonderhowto.com there is a tutorial by Mike Goedecke from Belief on crowd duplication in Particular.

Also, the auto-orient tutorial that is mentioned two posts up was created by Harry Frank, which you can find at his site at www.graymachine.com. He has great training on Particular as well as the other Trapcode prodcucts and more. Really helpful guy too.
