This is from the first few frames of the version of Death Race 2000 I found in the $1.99 bin.

And no, the blue window that says PLAY is not from my player, it is actually burned on the disc!

I got a really crappy copy of Hell Comes To Frogtown from a $3 bin at Ace Hardware. It was made somewhere in the Far East, and not very well.

Big Lots. I wasn't expecting a Criterion disc or anything, but come on.

Just making sure it wasn't a $1.99 bin in the trunk of some guys buick, located in the alleyway behind Big Lots.

You should make a handheld camera-shot copy and sell it at the 99-Cent Only Store.

Where I live people would consider that, "Fine craftsmanship." and not pay more than $1 for it.

Hell, where I live people would consider that a work of fucking art. That could fetch a MINIMUM of $10K at a local auction. :)

*sarcasm sticker printed and pressed on my forehead for those who don't know me better.*

Its value lies not in its retail price but in the Munsterburgian paradigm shift mandated by the self-reflexivity of a 'play' graphic integrated with the viewer's experience of the cinematic work.

Pretty hard to complain you got ripped off for a $2 DVD. You could do what my friends do and re-sell it for $10 and after the complaints say, "Hey, it worked great for me, don't know."
