I am going to be shooting a video for a sort of promo clip that will be 3-5 minutes long of my buddy's lamborghini for fun, and he wants it to look similar to a popular automotive show on the BBC called "Top Gear". For those of you who don't know what top gear looks like, here is an example:

I am shooting on a stock DVX 100B, with no special lenses or filters or anything. I can tell its very dark, gritty, etc....are there any settings or effects that I can use in Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 that can help me achieve the look of the video above? Thanks so much in advance guys!

You want to use Generated Media Color Gradient using a B&W ellipse that is composited in Screen mode to give you the vignette. Then use the Color Corrector and desaturate a little and push the Lows and Mids toward the greens and color to taste. Very doable in Vegas.

Uah, top gear is uncomparable. The best motor programme ever. Every chapter or car review is like a movie. But well, it is the BBC and that tells you all.

John's suggestion is good. You can also use a feathered oval cookie cutter for the vignetting.

Or get Magic Bullet looks.

I tried to get a look at the video but it seems like its no more there "due to copyright claim from BBC".

But youve got pointed to in the right direction already so no issues. I just would have wanted to see what the look and feel of it was.
