Take it easy on Mike. He's grammatically challenged.

Take is easy on Tom, he's comedically challenged.

Luis also incorrectly added a comma just like Batutta did. I'm just saying...

Without the comma it would be considered a run-on sentence.
With the comma it's up in the air as far as I know (some would consider it a run-on, and some would not).
I don't have my Shrunk & White handy.

I believe its actually a comma splice. Two independent clauses such as we have here must have an adjoining word such as and, but, or, etc. when joined with a comma. A semicolon would work to keep this as one sentence or just forming two sentences as Tom as done. And no I dont care about the grammar issues with this paragraph. Enjoy the irony.

Should be a semi-colon if you're going to join two independent clauses.

Rabid punctuation nerd here. :)

Yeah. A semi-colon is the right way to join the two parts.
Thanks Jared.
Let's now correct the rest of Mike D's post.

Mike D. as Daniel Plainview:
My good people,
I recently heard the most surprising news and saw fit to share it with you all today. The "word on the street", as the young people are fond of saying, is that there is to be a new installment in one of the most hallowed film franchises of yesteryear. I of course am speaking of that venerable old duo: Cheech and Chong.
Are they back with us for good? What have they been doing for all of these years? In what manner of amusing escapades will these perpetually intoxicated codgers get mixed up? So many questions to be answered.
I trust you all are as excited as I. Needless to say, I am preparing to purchase my tickets for their tour post-haste.
I am curious if any of you good folk have gotten word concerning the upcoming film?
Yours truly,
Michael D.
